Our history
Originally a farmstead on the Anglo-Zulu battlefields from the 1800s, Rorke’s Drift Lodge first welcomed guests 10 years ago. Accordingly, the lodge has six comfortable, private self-catering chalets, set in the rolling, landscaped gardens on the farm.
We are proud to be known for our hospitality, good food and picturesque views. Indeed, guests experience their stay at the lodge as more than just a holiday… it’s a little bit of heaven!
Where to find us
Our lodge is in a secluded area some 45km south east from Dundee in KwaZulu-Natal. In short, access is down a 5km farm track, after a 21km drive on dirt road.
Nguni cattle roam across the farm here. These animals, an icon of traditional Zulu culture, may be the world’s most beautiful cattle.
Furthermore, across the landscape dotted with paperbark acacias, you can spot many other animals and birds too.
As evening approaches, the spectacular sunset paints vivid colours across the sky. Also, owls, frogs, beetles and other nocturnal animals will remind you that you are in nature. Before long, the Southern Cross and Milky Way can be seen in the clear night skies.
